VISRETAIN - Retain changes to Xref layers

When working with Xrefs you may find that after a reload or open, any Xref dependent layers that you have turned off or frozen have turned back on again... This is controlled by the VISRETAIN system variable.

To ensure that your layer changes hold you can either set the VISRETAIN system variable to '1' or go via the 'Options' dialog box and ensure the 'Retain changes to Xref layers' is checked on the 'Open and Save' tab.

(Note: The VISRETAIN system variable is drawing dependent, Ie. The setting may vary from drawing to drawing).
